Maybe so Grydian. However, the bush league comment was largely a visceral reaction at the time. I still maintain even after all I heard that the offseason is still the most appropriate time to do these things. That being said, I never actually questioned the ultimate decision. When the initial Rosenthal report came out, we all agreed Porter was likely out. Trembley did express some surprise that it was done when it was. I suppose the biggest problem is the proximity to the Rosenthal report. I have no doubt that such a decision was under consideration for awhile but the timing makes it look awfully coincidental. Do we know for a fact that it had anything to do with it? Of course not and I don't think it did. However, it is a sign that the organization is either not cognizant of or does not care about how their decisions appear to the public.
