Astros fire Corpus Christi manager Keith Bodie, a 28-year employee of the organization, who was Texas League Manager of the Year in 2012 and won both halves of the 2013 season. Has a 231-189 record in three seasons with the Hooks. The Astros cite "philosophical differences". Bodie replied "what differences? They never talked to me."

Bodie Out As CC Manager

“There is a different way of doing things,” Bodie said of the Astros. “We don’t have any input (as a minor league manager), so I don’t know how the difference in philosophy — I don’t know where that stems from. Because my philosophy was to get each and every player as good as they can be according to their individual skills, and hopefully that would take them to the next level and ultimately to the big leagues. I thought we did that, and I don’t know how that philosophy differs from what they wanted. In that regard, I’m not sure.”

...

“We have a certain element in our organization now — I say our organization because I’m always going to be an Astro — that doesn’t understand that there may be some other ways of looking at things,” he said. “My only hope is that our organization gets back to respectability that we had when we were very competitive.

“It’s early enough for me to get my name out there and I’m anxious to go some place where I’ll be able to teach and coach, and I don’t have to do it in some back alley and under a cloak of secrecy.”

So, the treat-people-as-dirt Astros front office is at it again. At least they're consistent.
