What this tells me is he hasn't reached his true Bottom. 30 years ago I was there. Until you really want it. These things will continue to happen. I was always amazed at the people who had significant time would come in and say I had a relapse.
I've got 25 and those were my drugs of choice. Congrats on 30 years.

For those that haven't been there, there are plenty of support systems in LA. When I was in the music biz, there were even a couple of meetings I attended where almost everyone there was a rock star, movie star or tv star. And that can be helpful because the average person can't relate to the things a 'star' considers to be a problem.

I haven't read interviews with Hamilton to know what his triggers are. But I can't assume moving to LA was a contributing factor. Like KoolAde2, I've seen a lot of people over the years that started drinking or using again after long periods of sobriety. For some, it's because they stopped going to meetings. Some thought that after X number of years, maybe they could handle one beer or glass of wine and they couldn't. I've wondered that myself once or twice but never acted on that because the benefit was minuscule compared to the risk.

Regarding hitting bottom, it's different for everyone. For me, it was two DWI's in 6 months. For others, it's losing a significant other or losing everything. I hope he makes it back.
