Notable things today (Friday, 3/13):

Friday the 13th was unlucky for Santana who got sent to minor league camp.  Had  to expect that given all the OFers in camp this time around -- not to mention Satana's talent for not hitting the ball.  A couple others get sent down as well, but I think in the case of pitcher Cruz that was more or less expected, and in the case of catcher Flores who was drafted in the AAA phase of the Rule V draft it was just about a certainty.

A good day for Springer who got his first dinger today and then repeated the act a little later in the game.  Most of the serious candidates for the 25-man roster seem to be hitting fairly well with the fairly noticeable exception of Chris Carter.  He's supposed to be "working on" something, so maybe it'll pay off later, but right now he's under .100 in BA but has drawn 5 walks.

During spring training the standings ought to be based as those in hockey are, i.e., basically ties worth half a win.  The 'Stros already have two ties to go with their 5-2 W-L record.  Just so long as they don't decide games on post-game shootouts.
