Oh, I don't think there is any gloating by Houston fans regarding the injury.  I must say it was disappointing to hear about it, I was looking forward to following his career (a career tied with the Astros).  I think what this boils down to is that, "No player is more important than the team"; and the team needs are determined by the Front office, because it is their jobs on the line.  Aiken just found that out the hard way, for in ML baseball a team doesn't have to offer you what you want.  There really isn't much room for negotiation,  if you don't take the money they offer within the rules, then they just get to draft again next year with a measly penalty of picking one slot lower (the #2 pick is quite a compensation).

People are probably thinking that the Astros pissed off some agents through these dealings!!!  Probably so, but when do happy agents send their prime FA to Houston instead of the NY teams, the LA teams, or other prime Media spots!!!

Astros played their hands RIGHT!!! Kudos to the FO and management team.
