In the interest of the opening of the league. I suggested each of the participating GMs discuss their draft and what they were thinking. That way, when I miss the playoffs again, you can come back and laugh in my face. In order the organize my thoughts, I will go by position instead of draft order:

Catcher

I went with Devin Mesoraco pretty early on. I'm betting on a repeat season from him. I added our very own Jason Castro late in the draft as insurance (you will see a general theme to this insurance bit).

First Base

I punted first base maybe to my detriment. I had Matt Adams in my sights and he was picked before I could get him. I went with Adam Laroche and Justin Morneau within a few rounds. The hope is that one will be relatively productive.

Second Base

Officially, it lists Anthony Rendon there, but he will be shifting to third base. Brian Dozier is at utility, but he will move to second base. Additionally, I nabbed Ben Zobrist and he is eligible at every position except relief pitcher. I'm happy here.

Third Base

Rendon will move here, but I have Aramis Ramirez in that slot. I really wanted Xander Bogaerts because of his SS eligibility, but he was nabbed a few picks before I could get him.

Shortstop

I have a man crush on Ben Zobrist, so this is the only reach I had the whole draft. I tried to stay within ADP otherwise. He is eligible everywhere and vastly underrated. I picked up our very own Jed Lowrie late as insurance.

Left Field

Officially, Michael Brantley is there, but Corey Dickerson is also eligible there. I'm really happy with my outfield this year. Odds are one of these two guys will perform like they did last season.

Centerfield

Dickerson is there right now and I'm really hoping he repeats last season's performance. I added Austin Jackson late as insurance. If everything breaks right I can do some mixing and matching based on matchups.

Right Field

I bet on Nelson Cruz pretty early. This one might be my sucker bet, but I added Carlos Beltran in the next to last round in hopes that he can be decent insurance.

Starting Rotation

Clayton Kershaw, Cole Hamels, Jeff Samardzija, Collin McHugh, Jered Weaver, Chris Tillman

Anyone want to guess who I picked first in this draft? I generally don't like loading up on pitching, but you take what you get in every draft and there is so much good pitching these days that it's hard not to look like you have a stacked deck. I had Dallas Keuchel and Rick Porcello in my sights late and both were nabbed.

Relief Pitching

Huston Street, Joaquin Benoit, Andrew Miller, Luke Gregerson, Kelvim Herrera

I hate relievers, but I'm pretty happy with my group. Our league has holds, so I got two/three setup type guys. Both Andrew Miller and Gregerson might get some saves in addition to holds. So, it might end up being lean in terms of holds if both become their team's closer. That being said, holds are easy to get on the waiver wire. Overall I'm happy with the group.
