Rodon signed for 6.5 million. That is exactly what we offered Aiken before the physical. I understand you want the Astros to take the best player as if the best player is a can't miss. Only 66 percent of 1-1 picks make it to the big leagues. The Astros lost 100+ games 3 years in a row. Thats record setting bad. Do you blame them for trying to squeeze the most talent out of each draft? We went from the worst farm system to one of the best in just a few years. So while I totally understand your anger at the Astros, I don't think its as clear cut as you make it. So considering how iffy draft picks are in the first place is it really wrong to try and get more top 30 players out of the draft by managing slot money better than other teams? I don't just want a star on the Astros to follow. I want a lot of great players. If the Astros see a way to take a top 3 talent AND get a couple of top 30 talents on top of that I say the risk is worth the reward. Especially considering number 1 picks are not the guarantee that you think they are.
