My halfway point breakdown:

Catcher
Started with: Matt Wieters
Current: Stephen Vogt, Nick Hundley
I drafted Wieters at the bottom of the 16th round. I knew he'd be out for a month or so, but there wasn't much left at C at this point. Used a variety of C waiting for his return, finally sticking mostly with Caleb Joseph, his backup. Was fine going with Wieters the rest of the way. Even in somewhat limited playing time I felt he would still put up top 10 numbers at the C spot.
After a couple of trades, I ended up with Vogt and Hundley. Vogt will be the main guy. It's rare for me to carry 2 C on my roster but with the issues I'm having in the outfield and Vogt qualifying for RF to help out a little there, it's become somewhat of a necessity to carry 2.

1st Base
Started with: Miguel Cabrera
Current: Miguel Cabrera
I don't think anything needs to be said here. I did just recently pick up Mitch Moreland because he has been just too freaking hot, but I'll struggle to get him in the lineup.

2nd Base
Started with: Daniel Murphy
Current: Joe Panik
Murphy was streaky and because of that, I was going with a Delino DeShields platoon here. DeShields gave me some steals, that I need, that Murph wasn't giving me. Both of those guys landed on the DL and Panik has been the guy since. Honestly I don't know a whole lot about Panik but he's giving me a decent BA and doing well enough that it isn't a big concern of mine at the moment.

3rd Base
Started with: Josh Donaldson
Current: Josh Donaldson
Again, not much needs saying here.

Shortstop
Started with: Ian Desmond
Current: Carlos Correa
Desmond was my 2nd pick in the draft (#23 overall) and has been the biggest 2nd round bust in the league. Because he was drafted so high, you tend to give these guys a little more rope, hoping they get back to doing what they did to be rated so high. But it wasn't happening. When I landed Correa in a trade it made biting that bullet a little more bearable and I finally DFA'd Desmond on June 22.

Outfield
Started with: Hunter Pence, Mark Trumbo, A.J. Pollock, Joc Pederson, Michael Cuddyer
Current: Hunter Pence, A.J. Pollock, Nelson Cruz, Alejandro De Aza
Knew from the get-go, of course, that Pence would be down for awhile, but when he finally came back, he goes down again. Looks like he'll be out 'til after the ASB at the very least. I let Cuddyer go around when Pence came back. Trumbo was stinking up the joint and I sent Pederson off in the Correa/Vogt deal. Got Cruz in the Teixeira/Wieters trade and had been using Joey Butler when Pence went down again. With Butler losing playing time to Grady Sizemore, I've been using Vogt some in RF. Just picked up De Aza to help out until Pence eventually returns.

Starters
Started with: Matt Harvey, Jake Arrieta, Jacob DeGrom, Michael Wacha, Jose Fernandez, Taijuan Walker, Jake Odorizzi

Currently: Arrieta, DeGrom, Wacha, Fernandez, Odorizzi, Matt Moore, Noah Syndergaard, Vince Velaquez, Steven Matz

Harvey was dealt in the Correa deal. Felt I could afford that with Fernandez, who is back today, and Moore, who is also back today. Odorizzi has been solid but he's seen some shelf time and should be back soon. We know about Velasquez of course, and I had Carlos Rodon for a while. Didn't have a big problem with Rodon other than the ChiSox starting to push some of his starts back. Walker had a 7.33 ERA in his 1st 9 starts. I dropped him long before that. Naturally, he's knocked his ERA down 3 full runs in his last 7 starts and someone else is now benefiting from that. Wadda ya gonna do? Going with a couple of Mets prospects as well. Syndergaard has had some rough spots, but very good when he's on. Even in his rough outings he racks up the K's. Matz is their hot prospect they just called up, so I've got a lot riding on some youngsters and the health of Fernandez and Moore. That's pretty much going to make or break my season.

Bullpen
Started with: Craig Kimbrel, Trevor Rosenthal, Joel Peralta, A.J. Ramos, Kevin Quackenbush
Current: Kimbrel, Rosenthal, Roberto Osuna, Jim Johnson, Kevin Jepsen
Gambled this year using high draft picks on my closers and so far it's paid off (KNOCK ON WOOD). Both Kimbrel and Rosenthal have stayed healthy and I'm among the league leaders in saves.
As I have mention up thread somewhere, I go through a ton of holds guys every season and this season is no different. I did just pick up Osuna because he might be taking over the closer's gig in Toronto.

All in all, there are only 11 players remaining from the 25 I drafted. Of the last 11 draft picks I made, only Jake Odorizzi remains. To be fair, 2 of those guys would still be here if not for a trade but that would only make it 3 of my last 11 picks. Quite a turn around from April 1 to July 1.

So that's my situation at the midway point. Hoping I can finally get healthy, get some young guys to come through, and make a run at this thing in the 2nd half.

I started out with nothing...and I still have most of it.
