The Spinners and Jobu Rum made their annual trade as both GMs literally have each other on speed dial. The deal betrays a preseason mantra, but it's a calculated risk.

Jobu gets

C Yadier Molina
SP Brett Anderson

Spinners Get

Every Position Ben Zobrist
Catcher Matt Wieters

Rationale:

Simply put, I wanted more catcher production. Molina has seen a dip in his power numbers, but plays every single day. Wieters was playing only three or four days a week. Anderson strengthens an already strong rotation. I hate losing Zobrist, but I have Yunel Escobar and his ridiculous .330 average on the bench. So, probably a wash with the bats and slightly stronger pitching. Spinners gets a versatile performer and occasional pop from behind the dish. I'm positioning for the losers bracket while Spinners are a perennial powerhouse.
