I don't know if 30 out of 30 managers would have done it but it certainly doesn't qualify as a brain fart either. Morgan had stranded 6 runners on base this game and had yet to drive in a run. Berkman on the other hand was 3 for 3 and swinging the best stick on the team tonight. He picked his poison. With a speedster on second, a base hit is the game so it was really pick your poison. Pitch to Berkman and hope he pops out to the infield or strikes out and then pitch to Mo and hope he gets out... Or walk Lance and hope Mo either strikes out, infield or foul out or double play and maybe you have to pitch to Lane, maybe not. I don't think it is so unreasonable that he would rather face Mo and Lane than Berk and Mo. Basically you put a great hitter on and face a great hitter who has been struggling to deliver clutch hits "tonight" or you face the great hitter who has yet to make an out with the fastest guy on the team in scoring position. He made the right call in my opinion it just didn't work out. Anytime you have to get Morgan out he has a better than average chance to make you pay. In those game winning situations he is just so damn clutch. 10 game winning RBI's this year so far. Damn.
