Good point about Lima's performance on the road. A popular belief was that he was "shell shocked" by MMP, and that his shaken confidence spilled into road games. However, the fact is that Lima's velocity was not as good in 2000 as it had been in his best years. Lima aside, I think it is apparent that Astros' pitchers had to learn a different style of pitching in MMP compared to the Dome, which took time and, in some cases, different pitchers. I remember before Enron Field opened, manager Larry Dierker said the park would be more challenging to Astros' pitchers, but he said pitchers could be successful there if they adjusted to it. He had a pretty clear idea how to pitch there, and he has been proven right in that regard.
