Just to get my :2cents in; WOOHOO! Didn't see it live, but caught the local replay on Ch.13; ol' Bob Allen could hardly go on with the other sports he was so excited; and after seeing that ball takeoff off of Biggio's bat and Wagner hanging his head, all I could say was -- "Billy, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! Two nights in a row you groove fastballs right into good hitter's wheelhouses, and Lane makes you pay one night, and your buddy Biggio makes you pay the next!" I repeat, "WOOHOO!!!" :jump

But hey, didn't we see Wagner do the same thing with us for quite a few years? ...groove too many fastballs, in must-game situations to good fastball hitters, serve one up and watch it sail? That, and his big mouth, earned him his ticket outta here. :mad

Sure feels GOOD to be on the receiving end of things! Biggio shows what a gamer he is, further nailing down his HOF spot, and further showing his class and appreciation for the game by not crowing about his clout, knowing that it could've worked out just the other way -- with Wags on top for the one game at least.

(Depending on ESPN's Baseball Tonight to give us adequate Astros coverage now that they've gone to 'The Trifecta' and the onset of the NFL season, is ridiculous! They showed the Astros with the early lead, Phils making the comeback, [didn't show Lamb's 3 run jack to tie it up] and go straight to Bidge taking Wagner deep to win it. Then onto Yankee and Red Sox coverage. :rolleyes )
