The posts I read didn't say the Astros were offering Lidge; they said that other teams were demanding him or no deal. I read news reports that we tried to deal for Tony Clark, but the Diamondbacks demanded Lidge or no deal and Purpura said no. That just gives you an idea of what the trade market was like this year. If the Astros intend to field a contending team for the next few years, they absolutely should not deal Lidge for anyone. Especially not while he's still under club control and cheap. Purpura's may be inexperienced, but he's not dim. :wink
