I'm not buying this. The Reds should have done cartwheels that somebody was going to take Griffey and his salary off their hands. With Griffey gone, they could keep Dunn, etc. and have room to get more pitching.

The Reds were idiots not to pull the trigger. Even if they got no major leaguers in return, getting another team to take 90% of Griffey's contract is a deal they shouldn't have passed on. It would open up so many other avenues to build a team that could truly compete for the NL Central.

Oh well, since they're in our division, maybe I should be happy that idiots run the other teams in our division (St. Louis excluded).
