The Diamondbacks have reportedly acquired Doug Davis, Dana Eveland and David Krynzel from the Brewers for Johnny Estrada, Claudio Vargas and Greg Aquino.
We have to give the edge to the Diamondbacks here. Even though he's just one year away from free agency, Davis qualifies as the most valuable property in the deal. Estrada should be an upgrade over Damian Miller, but he's not a huge one. The bigger upgrade is that the Brewers won't have to rely on a weak backup for 50 games. Of the other four players, Eveland is probably the best bet for the future. Vargas is a reasonable fifth starter, but that's all he is. Aquino still has a chance to be a decent setup man. Krynzel has lost almost all of his value and shouldn't make an impact in the crowded Arizona outfield.
