I'd read once that in the bottom of the 9th of a tie game, Drysdale hit a guy with bases loaded coz he thought it was garbage that he tried to bunt on the previous pitch. I'd also read that Joe Torre knew it would be Drysdale's last season when Drysdale said hello to him before a game. Drysdale never talked to the opposition.
