It wasn't a big surprise that the University of Houston fell to Memphis in the C-USA title game, 71-59...After all, Memphis is a top-five team in the country who many feel would be ranked higher were it not for the lack of competition in their conference. They are the first C-USA team to go undefeated for the season in conference play.
But UH did all the Coog fans proud by getting to that title game. The Coogs now have a 18-15 record. This was their first chance to play for a conference title since 1992, when they won the Southwest conference (friggin' Razorbacks). Most feel that the Coogs have very little chance of making it to the big dance.
But what about the little dance? Could UH make it into the NIT? I'm no college basketball efficianado, but it seems to me that Penders is doing a good job of **FINALLY** turning that program around and getting it heading in the right direction.
