Despite future stars like Joe Morgan and Rusty Staub, the freshman team, with an average age of 19 years old, lost to New York, 10-3. Houston's right fielder that day was a little-known player named Aaron Pointer. His better-known sisters had a few hits of their own - performing as the Pointer Sisters."

Believe he was coaching for the Giants. He may still be on their coaching staff but I haven't checked lately. Sonny was supposed to be a stalwart at shortstop for the team. He was fast. Ran the bases well and with time would likely be pretty solid with the glove. Then his batting average began falling below the Mendoza line where it stayed.
