Western Conference Playoffs
1st-seeded Lakers versus 8th-seeded Nuggets.
2nd-seeded Hornets versus 7th-seeded Mavericks.
3rd-seeded Spurs versus 6th-seeded Suns
4th-seeded Jazz versus 5th-seeded Rockets.
The Rockets will have home court advantage, which may give them a fighting chance against a solid Utah Jazz team. We lost to the Utah Jazz in Game 7 last year at home and that was with Yao Ming, and now without Yao Ming perhaps we can still win this series but it's not going to be easy.
Rafer Alston isn't expected to play for at least two games with his injury, and it's going to be a heavy dose of Bobby Jackson and Aaron Brooks going up against the second or third best point guard in the entire NBA, Deron Williams.
Utah's frontcourt is always tough to defend because Carlos Boozer is simply the second or third best power forward in the entire NBA, Mehmet Okur will be looking to shoot three-pointers and Andrei Kirilenko is extremely active and athletic on both ends of the court.
The Jazz also have Kyle Korver, and he's simply an awesome shooter who can single-handily kill us in this series, especially if he's on fire!
I plan on making a 2008 NBA Playoffs ( Rockets versus Jazz ) thread once I find out the date and times for the games, but as of right now it looks like Saturday Night will be Game 1 at Toyota Center.
It's going to be interesting... I'll make the other thread later tomorrow...
