"As 99.8 percent of America watched some game in Boston on an unforgettable baseball Monday in October, a postseason classic was unfolding in Texas -- before the eyes of, well, just about no one."

Yeah, Travis posted a link to this earlier today. It's a good article. From what I hear, Fox is getting guff from a lot of different folks for ignoring the NLCS this year. I know ESPN has really been ragging on them today.

Quote: Now that's funny. ESPN is nothing more than the New York Yankee network -- with 28 minutes of every half hour devoted to Yankee - Red Sox highlight reels -- and 2 minutes to Astros - Cardinals highlight reels. BTW, that was an excellent article. |

I guess I should have said that SOME of the ESPN guys are really ragging on Fox today.

I hope somebody rags on them big time. Not only did they not show the NLCS in most markets, they didn't really want to show it in Houston and St Louis. They were constantly reminding us that we COULD see the ALCS on another channel and showing replays from the ALCS. It was kinda like "why do you want to watch this when you can watch the ALCS?"
For some reason TV people don't understand that when people choose to watch a particular something that they might really actually might want to watch that particular something! I hope that the Astros and Rockets are able to put together the sports channel they are working on, although it wouldn't help at playoff time. |

Quote:I was questioning that too. Why would anyone in St. Louis or Houston want to turn it from the Cards/Astros to watch the freaking Yankees/Sox??? Astros-RedSox World Series I started out with nothing...and I still have most of it. |

I felt really bad for the loyal Astros fans across the country that didn't get to see the Backe Show!! It was just such an awesome game - and to have to sit through the Thugs vs the Gods inning after inning after inning just waiting...
at least they did get to see the win, I guess. I've seen some of the ALCS (I mean - how could I miss it with Fox cramming it in my throat) and I think the NLCS has been way more exciting to watch! Just better baseball in general. But, that's just my opinion. |

Quote: Obviously for the same reason that Ed in Ct would want to see the Astros-Cards. |

Got to see the game on FX. Ignored the ALCS completly. One thing that really pissed me off though was when the ALCS game ended, they literally turned the game off of FX mid Lidge pitch, and told us to turn to Fox. Fox sucks.
