Does anyone have the skinny on the hats the Astros are wearing down in Florida? Are they just for spring training, or is that the new BP design?

I'm not real thrilled with the Texas thing... looks very contrived.
What should have occurred to the Astros fashion design dept: put the Houston block H from the traditional caps of not-so-long ago on top of the new star. |

I noticed those too. The new logo on the hats is the exact same design as the patch that was on the left shoulder of the regular season jerseys last year and the year before. I don't like it on the hats though. It's too busy and doesn't show up as well from a distance as the star by itself. I hope it's just for spring training. Last year the spring training hats were the same as the regular season hats but the jerseys didn't have any patches on the shoulders. I think the plain red jerseys were the same ones they use during the regular season for batting practice.

Like you said, both the hat and jersey from spring training last year were the batting practice items for the regular season.

I like this one better! shop.mlb.com/product/inde...cp=1452353 But my favorite (of which I can't find anymore anywhere) is the red cap with black bill batting practice cap of a couple of years ago; it's the one with ventilation holes all over it. I've got 2, and both have seen better days. Jimbob
