Oswalt looking to get Astros back to the .500 mark
LA Dodgers (40-46) at Houston (42-43), 1:20 pm EDT
HOUSTON (Ticker) -- After a dreadful start to the season, the Houston Astros will be looking to even their record with a victory against the slumping Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.
At its lowest point of the season, Houston was 16-31. However, thanks to a turnaround that included a 16-4 surge in their last 20 games, the Astros are looking to reach the .500 mark for the first time since being 5-5 on April 16.
Voted to his first All-Star team in the fan balloting for the final National League roster sport, Roy Oswalt (11-7, 2.44 ERA) will be looking to win his sixth straight start. He pitched a five-hitter for his third complete game of the season in Monday's 4-1 win over San Diego.
Oswalt, who is 2-2 with a 3.54 ERA in four lifetime appearances against the Dodgers, has received 25 runs during his five-game winning streak after receiving just 13 runs in his previous seven outings.
With a 7-17 mark in their last 24 games, the injury-riddled Dodgers will have Jeff Weaver (7-7, 4.43) on the mound. The righthander allowed three runs - two earned - but did not get a decision in a 4-3 win at Colorado on Monday.
Weaver is 1-2 with a 5.03 ERA in three career starts against Houston
