Unfortunately, he completely missed my argument that Biggio is hitting .285 with 10Hr's and35 RBi's. I also mentioned he just tied Joe Morgan on the All time runs list and is about to catch Lou Gehrig on the all time hits list.

Pimping Biggio and Ensberg as All Star Reserves. Unfortunately, Jim Leyritz is in the "Biggio wears too much body armour camp." He said Biggio never would have broken Baylors record if it wasnt for the Arm Pad.

Also, Leyritz said Biggio has been a "good" player in his career, meaning, he has never been a great player.

Then by that rationale, Leyritz was a "bust" of a player in his career.
Take away a couple of postseason homers and it's pretty much crap. |

rules violation and the key above the shift key is the caps lock. You might want to learn to use it (FI).

Sheesh, chill Connors!
Everybody here knows 14ALL uses all caps, while Bob Mundon never uses caps. It's like their signature. And what does FI mean?! |

Quote: I think it was fi posted? I don't know, the only thing I could think of in the context is F'n Idiot?? P.S. The "too much body armour(sic)" comment is kinda out of line since all he wears is a elbow pad. We all saw that shot he took earlier in the year, when he was hit on his forearm (vs. the Mets?). Imagine how many other shots he has taken like that. Biggio is a tough SOB, and compared to most, he doesn't stand that much closer to the plate. A big reason he gets hit is pitchers come inside to set up the outside slider. They don't want to leave the inside pitch in a spot that Biggio can hit it, so if they are going to miss, they will miss more inside (better than missing more out over the plate). The announcers were talking about the one he took in the left leg in the second game of the series. They said he had a big ugly bruise from that one. If you have not ever been hit by a pitch with real velocity, you may never be able to understand the pain involved. I got hit once on my left tricep area, and the bruise stayed there for 3 weeks. It was still sore in the deep tissue over a month later. That was probably a mid-eighties fastball. Think about getting hit on a bone without the muscle to cushion the impact. owee!! Just my $.02 |
