It's time for Phil Garner to go do something else for a living.
I suspected late last season that he was a little short upstairs with some of his weird pitching decisions going into the playoffs and I definitely have had a problem with his managerial decisions this year. Playing musical chairs with the defense. Falling in love with John Franco. Wasting talent like Dan Wheeler and Brad Lidge in key situations because Garner doesn't have the gray matter to think outside of the box.
He simply will not bring in his top guys in important situations. He thinks Dan Wheeler can't pitch after pitching 1.1 inninngs for a week and Lidge can't come in to pitch in the 8th inning because Lidge is a CLOSER!! And, your not supposed to bring in your closer to pitch before the 9th inning.
Yeah...dumbass, keep playing by your book of rules and at some point, hopefully somebody on that team will hand you your pink slip before you piss away any chance this team might have of making the playoffs this year.
