You know, I can deal with missing a play every now and then, the Pierenski(sp?) play in the ALCS, the Dye HBP, I mean these guys are human. What I can't deal with is the freaking strike zone. Every freaking umpire in baseball has their own strike zone and that is nothing but BULLSHIT!!!!
Joe West was interveiwed on 610 today. When asked about the Dye play, he said of all the calls they've made in the playoffs so far, there's just a handful they've missed. He was selling as being a damn good percentage that they got right.
Uh, sorry Joe. Obviously you didn't include balls and strikes in your little equation. Because if you did, your percentage of right calls plummets.
The strike zone is defined quite well in the Major League Baseball RULEBOOK. Bud "I have the power" Selig needs to get officials who are going to uphold and enforce the rules in the rulebook. If you don't, there's no point in having one.
Of course Selig has much more important matters to concern himself with with his worrying about roofs and all that. I mean the roof would have brought the Series to it's knees had Bud not step in.

I started out with nothing...and I still have most of it.
